Q-Bot is founded

Q-Bot was founded by Tom Lipinski and Prof. Peter Childs in early 2012.

Q-Bot’s first completed installations using the robot

Q-Bot’s underfloor insulation robot was improved and able to complete its first installations.

2015

Q-Bot’s technology wins its first awards

Green Apple Award, IEEE Innovation Award and the Business Green Leaders Award.

2016

Q-Bot’s process is accredited

Q-Bot was approved by ConstructionLine and offered PAS 91. Later on, Q-Bot became PAS 2030:2017 accredited.

Q-Bot’s first install partner

Q-Bot onboarded its first install partner and started training their teams to use the underfloor insulation robots.

2018

Q-Bot goes international and digital

After entering the French market, Q-Bot’s robot install records became fully digital thanks to the development of its new QA management software.

Q-Bot goes into lower voids

The ‘Low Void’ robot and a smaller spray nozzle were developed, enabling installers to insulate suspended floors of 200mm height, previously inaccessible.

Q-Bot wins a Queen’s Award

Q-Bot wan the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category.

Q-Bot’s robots keep upgrading

The ‘High Void’ robot was developed to improve ergonomics and access underfloor voids up to 800mm high.

Q-Bot’s robots get a new control unit

To replace the bulky and heavy control units, the team develop a smaller, lighter and easier-to-manufacture model.

Q-Bot starts outsourcing robot production

The manufacturer Tharsus built new robots and ancillary items for Q-Bot.

2024

Q-Bot’s first CPD program released

Q-Bot released its first CPD program (Continuous Professional Development), approved by RIBA. This course explores challenges related to suspended floors and the benefits of Q-Bot’s insulation process compared to traditional methods.
